AR: How did you two meet?
Michelle: We met on Bumble! I was in graduate school at Ohio State at the time and Max was already living in California but was home visiting family and friends. We went on a date on a whim thinking we’d probably never see each other again. We ended up having such a great time that we went out several more times that week before Max headed back across the country and we started dating long distance!
Max: We met on the dating app Bumble while I was in Columbus, OH visiting friends and Michelle was in school at Ohio State for her doctorate. Although we lived across the country, we both decided that a one-time date would be fun. It went so well that I cancelled my flight home and stayed an extra week.
AR: What was your first date?
Michelle: A French restaurant called La Chatelaine! We must have looked a little awkward and shy because the waiter asked if we were on a first date and gave us a free tart and some wine.
Max: La Chatelaine restaurant on Lane Ave. The staff said we looked like we were enjoying a first date and brought us a free tart.
AR: How did your proposal happen?
Michelle: We were on vacation in Hawaii and we hiked down to a quiet part of this gorgeous black sand beach where Max proposed. I didn’t see it coming since he had never asked me about ring sizes or styles, but he picked out the perfect one all on his own!
Max: I measured Michelle’s finger in her sleep and secretly bought a ring months before proposing. I kept it in my backpack when we did hikes together until the right moment on a secluded beach in Hawaii.
AR: What do you remember most from your wedding day?
Michelle: One of my favorite moments was the very last song of the night, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. Our DJ called everyone out to the dance floor and we all stood in a circle with our arms around each other’s shoulders swaying back and forth. Everyone from the kids to the older folks sang along and it was so fun to see this community we’ve created as a couple come together and show us so much love.
Max: It just happened so the entire thing is pretty vivid. The most striking moment might have been seeing my wife walking down the aisle toward me. I got a little choked up and didn’t fully recover before reading vows.

"Ashley is amazing. We could not have asked for a more personable, professional, kind, hardworking, and fun photographer. We loved every part of the process of working with Ashely—from the meetings to the big day. Her work is phenomenal. She knows how to get the best photos while working well with the clients. I can not recommend Ashely enough. We plan to continue to use her for future photo sessions. "
" I dearly love every one of my couples, and I feel so grateful when they love me back!"

"I don’t even know where to begin with Ashley. She was more than a photographer for me on my wedding day. She was a coordinator, a real life anxiety cure, a hair dresser during pictures & the reception, company that I truly enjoyed for the day, and of course, a wonderful photographer as well. She was with us throughout the whole day with no rush to hurry through anything & always making sure we were okay and getting the pictures we wanted. Joe & I truly do not know what we would’ve done without her on our big day. If you’re getting married, you absolutely have to hire her."
"Company that I truly enjoyed for the day."

"We cannot say enough wonderful things about Ashley and all she did for us for our big day as well as the days that led up to it. She is timely, organized, and goes above and beyond for her couples. She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and was so efficient throughout the entire day. Ashley is professional while still making her couples feel like friends! We got a 10 photo preview on our WEDDING NIGHT- that was so incredible to have so soon. Thank you, Ashley! The day was perfect with you behind the lens!"
